About Sherry Hardage:

Sherry retired from Honeywell after a long career as an electro-mechanical designer, with the idea of exploring the world. Now four years later her life consists of traveling almost full time, taking photos, and writing about it on her blog "Soul Investing". She's made new friends, eaten insects, sampled weird ice cream, lived in Mexico, Spain, Italy, and Turkey for months at a time, with future plans to spend long periods in other parts of the world.
As a Unitarian-Universalist, she's not sure we human beings have an actual "thing" that goes on to heaven or reincarnates as another life form, but inside each of us, there is definitely something magical that we've chosen to call our spirit or soul. Since travel often has the profound effect of changing us for the better, and since we can't take money into the hereafter, Sherry believes spending it on travel is the best life investment.

Testimonials

We were members of the Chiapas tour group with Sherry Hardage from January 17-31 2013. Sherry organized an excellent trip. She expertly handled all sorts of requests from the tour group ranging from room changes, restaurant selection and even where to get laundry done. The original schedule program was followed as closely as possible and when a minor change did occur, things were worked out for everyone. Frequent meetings with the whole group assured that no one was left out. New unscheduled opportunities were often added when they popped up. Everyone was able to feel "at home" throughout the trip. She made excellent choices of tour guides, hotels and drivers.

![]() Sherry,
Thanks so very much for giving us a lifetime memory of what turned out to be a new appreciation and understanding of two very different and unique cultures! We saw things in Chiapas that wouldn't have been possible if we had done such a trip on our own. Both you and your hand selected guides had a wonderful appreciation and understanding of the current and ancient Hispanic and Mayan people of Chiapas. We were impressed by your planning, including the last minute changes that invariably turn up on such adventures. It was wonderful that your language skills were up to the challenge, as so few of the locals seemed to speak English. The variety of day trips exceeded our expectations! Cheers, Jan jstudebaker@gmail.com Thanks for a great trip to Chiapas! I really appreciated your knowledge of the area, your organizational skills, and your good company. We could have never done so much or seen so deep on our own. Hope to travel with you again. Mary mary14er@gmail.com |
Sherry put together a truly wonderful trip for a group of old friends who hadn't seen each other for a long time. She tailored our trip to our interests, activity level, and pace. We wanted to be very active so she packed in a lot. Yet we drove the pace and it was no big deal if changes happened.
Sherry is a natural for this role. She knows the place, people, and culture and speaks Mexican Spanish. She was relaxed and flexible yet everything was extremely well planned and went without a hitch. Chiapas is a glorious place but not heavily visited by American tourists. It has a great climate and a wonderful range of things to see and do. It would not have been nearly as accessible without Sherry's planning and guidance. I cannot recommend Sherry Hardage and her mexadventures any more heartily, it was the best time I have had in years. Rebecca Bent MD, Eugene, Oregon The 2015 June trip to Chiapas was fabulous. It was the perfect blend of adventure in the jungle, touring a charming small city with wonderful museums, visiting indigenous communities with a well versed guide, swimming in the rivers and walking under waterfalls and of course shopping in the town street markets. The hotels were perfect, comfortable and charming. Sherry arranged a great itinerary but allowed for flexibility. I would highly recommend MexAdventures and Chiapas as a destination.
